Psalm 19:5

Psalm 19:5

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strongman to run a race.

1. “Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber…”

a. In the previous verse it has been shown how the Messiah is likened unto the sun. He is also likened to a bridegroom.

1). John 3:29 “He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegrooms voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.”

b. Jesus referred to himself as the bridegroom in Matthew 9:15.

1). Matthew 9:15 “And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.”

2. “…and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.”

a. As the sun progresses through the signs of the Zodiac year after year it depicts the step by step process of God purchasing our eternal redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 19:4

Psalm 19:4

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun.

1. “Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.”

a. Amplified Bible: “Yet their voice in evidence goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world.”

b. It is very significant that this verse is quoted by the Apostle Paul in Romans 10:18.

1). Romans 10:17, 18 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.”

a). It is also significant that the Greek word rhema is used for word in Romans 10:17 and words in Romans 10:18.

b. W. E. Vine, Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words: “The significance of rhema (as distinct from logos) is exemplified in the injunction to take “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:17; here the reference is not to the whole Bible as such, but to the individual Scripture which the Spirit brings to our remembrance for use in time of need, a prerequisite being the regular storing of the mind with Scripture.”

c). This matches perfectly the Scriptures in Romans 1:20, 21 in speaking of the amount of revelation or light the people had of the things of God.

d). Romans 1:20, 21 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

i. knew [1097 * ginosko ] [W. E. Vine: “In the N.T. ginosko frequently indicates a relation between the person knowing and the object known; in this respect, what is known is of volue or importance to the one who knows, and hence the establishment of the relationship especially of God’s knowledge.”

ii. The revelation they received was a rhema or personal word from God. They knew God. One of the ways they received that knowledge was through his creation, which included the revelation of the stars.

2. “In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun”

a. Malachi 4:2 “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings…”

Psalm 19:3

Psalm 19:3

There is no speech nor language, where there voice is not heard.

a. In verse three in the KJV the words There is and where are in italics, which means those words were added by the translators because they believed the context called for them. In most cases they are correct.

b. What verses 2 & 3 are saying is that although there is speech uttered, there are no voices or language, no audible words, yet the words are spread out all over the earth.

Psalm 19:2

Psalm 19:2

Day unto day uttereth speech, night unto night sheweth knowledge.

a. [RSV] “Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge.”

b. When I first began to meditate on these Scriptures I was perplexed, because my reasoning was if the passage of Psalm 19:1-6 was about the revelation of the stars, why did it say, “Day unto day” when the stars only come out at night? I then realized that one of the fundamental aspects of the original revelation in the heavens and also adopted by the perversion of that revelation, astrology, was the path of the sun during the day in relation to the night sky.

Psalm 19:1

Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

1. “The heavens declare the glory of God…”

a. declare [5608 * caphor] [Strongs: To score with a mark as a tally or record, to inscribe, to enumerate, to recount, shew forth, speak, talk, tell out…] [AMG Old Testament Word Study: The participle from of the word soper, means scribe and occurs about fifty times in the Old Testament. Example: Scribes such as Ezra. Ezra 7:6]

b. glory [3519 * kabod] [Strongs: From 3513; prop. Weight, but only figuratively in a good sense, splendor or copiousness, gloriously, glory, honour.] [AMG Old Testament Word Study: A masculine singular noun meaning wealth, honor, glory majesty. This term is commonly used of God.]

c. Jesus shinned forth that glory in his life on earth.

1). John 1:1, 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father)…”

d. We see that same glory in the Word.

1). 1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face…”

2). 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord…”

e. Marilyn Hickey, The Signs of the Heavens, p.3.
“The Psalmist picks up the theme again and states, “the heavens declare the glory of God.” What is the image and glory of God? It is the face of Jesus Christ! The stars tell his story.”

1). 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

f. E. W. Bullinger, The Witness Of The Stars: “Surely there is something more referred to here than a mere wonder excited byt the works of the Creator! When we read the whole passage and mark its structure, and note the words employed, we are emphatically told that the heavens contain a revelation from God; they prophesy, they show knowledge, they tell of God’s glory, and set forth His purposes and counsels.”

g. This is the glory of God that the ancients changed into an image.

1). Romans 1:23 “And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and to fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

a. Corruptible man: Bootes, Ophiuchus, Perseus, Virgo, Coma, Cepheus.

b. To birds: Corvus (raven), Aquila (eagle), Cygnus (swan).

c. Four footed beasts: Leo (lion), Ursa Major (bear), Canis Major (dog).

d. Creeping things: Cancer (crab), Scorpio (scorpion), Hydra & Serpens (snakes).

2). Romans 1:25 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

2. “…and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”

a. firmament [Dictionary: the vault of heaven; sky.

b. handywork [It is actually two Hebrew words][3027 * yad] [Gesenius: the human hand] & [4639 * ma’aseh][Gesenius: deed or work.]

c. The handy work involves not only the orbits of the planets and stars, but also the vast expanse of the universe.

1). Jeremiah 31:35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

2). Stars, Planets, and Galaxies: [Clusters of Galaxies] “At a distance of several diameters of the Local Group there are other clusters of galaxies. North of Spica in Virgo, there is a region called the Realm of the Galaxies. Here, vast assemblages are found containing thousands of galaxies in one of the largest clusters known. Its distance is about 40 million light years. The number of galaxies contained may be numbered in the tens of thousands, with the greatest concentration toward the constellation Virgo; the number of galaxies tapers off as the Local Group is reached. From all appearances, this is the local super galaxy, a galaxy of galaxies, instead of stars. Our Galaxy, the Milky Way, is one in tens of thousands far out on the rim of a gigantic wheel of galaxies whose flat distribution indicates a rotation about the center. The local super galaxy is only one of many, for investigations  show others in the direction of Hydra and Pavo. Clusters of galaxies extend into space in all directions many of billions of light years. Thus, we can see that the universe is composed of hierarchies of increasing magnitude, in constant motion, in an unimaginably vast sea of space.”

3). God is awesome!

Luke 21:24

Luke 21:24

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive unto all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

1. “…and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the the Gentiles…”

a. trodden down [3961 * pateo] [Zodhiates: To tread, trample; to tread as a winepress )Revelation 14:20, 19:15); To trample upon or have in subjection (Luke 21:24, Revelation 11:2).

b. During the times of the Gentiles, Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles. As the Greek definition declares, the Gentiles will have Jerusalem under subjection. They will for the most part, not be aware or understand the spiritual significance of that city.

1). The city of the great King.

a.) Psalm 48:1, 2 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.”

2). God has chosen Jerusalem.

a.) 2 Chronicles 6:6 “But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.”

b). The name of God has been literally embossed on the geography of Mount Zion.

c. During the times of the Gentiles, Israel will have no national sovereignty.

1). Sovereignty-the supreme and independent political authority of a nation.

2). The fact that Israel is now a nation and has national sovereignty is a strong indicator that the times of the Gentiles are about over.

d. During the times of the Gentiles, the individual Gentile nations have national sovereignty, they have supreme independent authority to govern themselves.

1). In the United States, no other nation dictates to us what we can or cannot do within our borders. Our laws come forth from at least four spheres of jurisdiction. On the Federal level Washington D. C. On the state level our laws come forth from the individual state capitals. There are also County ordinances and City ordinances.

2). Likewise in other nations, depending on what form of government they have, they govern themselves. The laws governing France come from the governing body in Paris. The laws governing England, come from the governing body in London.

e. In Luke 21:24 Jesus is contrasting the “times of the Gentiles” with something else. The Bible speaks about different times or seasons when things that God has ordained happen according to His calendar. A good example is in the Book of Acts when Jesus spoke of the restoration of the kingdom to Israel.

1). Acts 1:6, 7 “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”

f. The restoration of the kingdom to Israel will occur after the return of Christ to this earth, which the Apostle Paul referred to as “his times” The times of Jesus Christ.

1). I Timothy 6:14, 15 “That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

g. During the times of Jesus Christ, Jesus will be the be the Supreme ruler over all the earth.

1). Psalm 22:27 “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD; and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.

 h. The absolute independent sovereignty of the nations will be taken from their respective capitals and given to Jesus, the Supreme ruler over all the earth. The first directive I see coming forth from Jerusalem to the nations is to disband their militaries. and the worship of Jesus the Great King in Jerusalem.

1). Isaiah 2:1-4 “The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
And it shall came to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”

2). Micah 4:1-3 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

3). Isaiah 42:1-4 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

a). Hallelujah, Jesus will set judgment in the earth, and the isles, all nations will wait for his law and it will come forth out of Jerusalem as Isaiah and Micah declare.

i. Another directive or “law” is that all nations will come up to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles

2). Zechariah 14:16 “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

j. It appears that the whole earth will be under a Jewish calendar.
1). Isaiah 66:23 And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Genesis 1:14

Genesis 1:14

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

1. “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night…”

a. God called the universe into existence by faith.

1). Psalm 33:6, 9 “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.”

2). Psalm 8:3 “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;”

3). God’s Plan For Man, Finis Jennings Dake, Published by Dake Bible Sales, Eleventh Printing, 1984. p. 81, “From a study of all these Scriptures and those on the creation of all things, it is clear that by the Word of God the materials were brought into existence, and then by His hands He formed the materials into the various parts of the universe. That is, as God spoke, the materials came into existence and as fast as they materialized He used them to from all things with His hands.”

b. God Almighty named the stars.

1). Psalm 147:4 “He telleth the number of stars; he calleth them all by their names.”

2). Isaiah 40:26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”

c. Job mentions the names of a few stars.

1). Job 9:8, 9 [KJV] “Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.”

d. The Lord mentions the same ones.

1). Job 38:31-33 [RSV] Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion?

Can you lead the Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?”

a). Marraroth [4216 * mazzarah] [Strongs: The signs of the zodiac.]

2. “…and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

a. signs [226 * owth] [Strongs: a signal (lit. or fig.) as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, mark miracle, ensign, token.] [AMG Old Testament Word Study: This word is used most often to describe awe-inspiring events: God’s work to bring the Hebrew people out of Egypt [Exodus 4:8, 9, sign; Numbers 14:22 miracles;]

b. Witness of the Stars, E. W. Bullinger. Kregel Publications, 1967. Reproduced from 1893 Edition published in London. P. 177: “Here the word “signs” is othoth (the plural of oth, from the root meaning ‘to come’). Hence, a sign of something or someone to come.”

c. seasons [4150 * moed] [Strongs: An appointment, i.e., a fixed time or season…conventually a year, a signal (as appointed beforehand]. [AMG Old testament Word Study: It can signify an appointed time or place, a specific appointed time, usually for a sacred feast or festival, a time of birds migration, the same time next year.]

d. A sign of something to come in its appointed time.

e. Many Bible scholars believe that Job is the oldest book of the Bible, and that when Job was experiencing all his troubles there was no written revelation. The most prominent revelation was creation, a revelation that included the stars.

f. Job 26:13, 14 “By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand?

1). garnished [8231 * shapar] [Strongs: To glisten, i.e., (fig.) be (causative: make) fair, goodly.]

2). crooked [1281 * bariyach] [Strongs: A fugitive, i.e., the serpent (as fleeing), and the constellation by that name.

3). God designed the constellations, the Zodiac.
